Nova Scotia based seafood manufacturer, Cedar Bay Grilling Company™ has won top honours in three categories at the Canadian Grand Prix new product awards. Cedar Bay Cedar Planked Salmon with sugar and BBQ sauce won best deli/meat and seafood product, most innovative and original product and the Canadian Grand Prix Healthy Innovation new product award. The competition was judged by a 32-member panel including a cross-section of consumers, food editors, journalists, advertising executives, packaging designers and Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors members.
Cedar Bay cedar planked salmon is a unique Canadian favorite that appeals to today’s consumer looking for convenience and a healthy alternative. Atlantic salmon is seasoned and placed on a pre soaked cedar board and sold frozen in seafood departments. The product is completely prepared and ready for the BBQ or the oven.

Earlier in the year Cedar Bay Grilling Company™ was awarded the best new retail product at the 2010 International Boston Seafood Show. The products were judged on packaging, convenience, marketability, nutrition, originality and overall eating experience.
Cedar Bay is entering its second year producing value-added seafood products. The company employs 15 people in Blandford on the south shore of Nova Scotia. The ready to cook cedar plank salmon products are available across Canada at major grocery retailers.
