At Cedar Bay Grilling Company, we have the utmost concern and respect for our beautiful planet and for the oceans that provide us with so much. We source and procure all of our products – from our seafood products to our packaging – from partners who share our sense of responsibility for the environment and our attitude towards sustainable practices.
Our seafood is sourced through Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) Certified organizations that demonstrate an ongoing and ethical approach to seafood farming and who participate regularly in activities that give back to the natural resources from which our products are drawn.
Our primary packaging producer hold high ethical standards and actively participate in the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) that assures best practices in environmentalism and sustainability. Cedar Bay box-board packaging is made from 100% recycled materials and is printed with environmentally safe and recyclable inks and finishes.
The Cedar Bay manufacturing facility in Nova Scotia holds an AA Certification with BRCGS (Brand Reputation through Compliance of Global Standards). BRCGS is a trade association that monitors best practices for food and manufacturing industries worldwide. The exceptionally high standards and rigorous auditing process held by BRCGS make our AA rating a particular point of pride for the entire team at Cedar Bay.
At Cedar Bay Grilling Company, we’re all about innovation. While we know that our customers count on favourite meal staples such as our Cedar Planked Atlantic Salmon, we understand that they crave new taste experiences and meal approaches too. That is why we continually strive for new innovations – researching food trends, latest cooking methodologies, and novel taste combinations, to develop products that offer our customers new and exciting ways to put fish and seafood on their BBQs and dinner tables, while delivering the convenience, quality and superior taste they have come to expect from us.
Our drive for innovation was clear from the start. In our first year of business, Cedar Bay received the Best Retail Product of the Year award at the 2010 Boston Seafood Show, and that same year received the Canadian Grand Prix award for Healthy Innovation and Originality. We have continued this pattern with multiple awards since then, including a finalist placement in the 2014 Hotelympia Innovation Awards in the UK, and in May 2019, the Canadian Grand Prix’s Best New Product award in the Meat, Egg & Seafood (fresh/refrigerated or frozen) category
